[wpfilebase tag=file id=11]

Using the free app Toggle Flash, you can enable and disable Flash with the click of a button. Keeping reading for full instructions.

  1. Start by downloading Toggle Flash. You’ll also need to have the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework installed, if it isn’t already.
  2. Close IE and install Toggle Flash
  3. Launch IE and you should now see the Toggle Flash button in your Command Bar:
If it’s not there, you probably just need to re-size your Command Bar. To do so, right-click a blank space in the Toolbar and select Lock the Toolbars (if it has a check next to it – if it doesn’t, you can skip this step).
Hover your mouse over the “line” that will appear next to the Command Bar and your cursor will change to a multidirectional arrow (see screenshot below). Click and drag the “line” to the left to increase the size of your Command Bar. Stop once the Toggle Flash button appears. Now you can re-lock the Toolbars.
Click the Toggle Flash button to turn Flash off. Now visit a page that you know has Flash on it (for example, YouTube). You’ll notice that the video won’t display.
Click the Toggle Flash button again and refresh the page. Now the Flash content will be displayed:
Now you can quickly disable and re-enable Flash any time you want!
