iPhone – How to Remove or Uninstall Apps?

We have decided to post some basic level tutorials for the users new to the iPhone/iOS or Android platforms on performing basic but key tasks. We will be posting these basic tips/guides every now and then. For today, the tutorial is about how to uninstall the installed apps from the iPhone that have been installed by the user in the past.

Its is one of the most basic tasks that a user might have to do in particular if he has an iPhone or any other iOS device with only 8GB internal memory to free up some memory to install some other apps (or games etc.).

Procedure is actually extremely simple if you know what to do. So here we go:

Step 1: First navigate through the pages on the Springboard and locate the app that you want to remove.

Step 2: Now simply tap the screen and hold the icon on the screen for 2 seconds, and soon all the icons will start to wiggle. At that time release the touch on the screen.

Step 3: Now you only need to press the “X” that appears on the corner of the application when the icons on the screen are wiggling.

Step 4: That’s it! That specific app for which you pressed the “X” will get removed from the iPhone.

Note that you CANNOT uninstall the stock apps that comes preinstalled with the iOS device this way.
